The 2014 Wallace Award

Rebecca Corey with Wallace Award statute Pit Bulletin Legal News is pleased to name Rebecca Corry as the winner of the 2014 Wallace Award. She single handedly put together an event—The One Million Pibble March—that showed how much people support pit bulls and inspired people to travel from all over the country to meet and share their passion. The 2013 Wallace Award

Lori WeisePit Bulletin Legal News is pleased to name Lori Weise as the winner of the 2013 Wallace Award. Since 1996 Lori Weise has been helping dogs and their owners stay together in some of Los Angeles's most underserved communities. In 2013, Weise's Downtown Dog Rescue began an innovative program to keep dogs out of shelters and crowfunded a new shelter. Congratulations Lori!

PBLNN Wallace Award

Wallace Picture9Pit Bulletin Legal News Network (PBLNN) announced that their 2012 Pit Bull Advocate of the Year recipient is famed disc-dog and breed ambassador Wallace. Wallace—subject of Jim Gorant’s Wallace:  The Underdog Who Conquered a Sport, Saved a Marriage, and Championed Pit Bulls – One Flying Disc at a Time—changed perceptions of pit bulls through his career as a champion disc dog.

PBLNN presents an annual award to the individual that brings the most positive attention to pit bull type dogs and generates an atmosphere of change throughout the year. Each October the award is presented in commemoration of National Pit Bull Awareness Month. The 2012 award was presented on October 13th in Rochester, Minnesota, to Wallace and his owners’ Roo and Clara Yori in a public ceremony. In honor of Wallace, PBLNN announced that henceforth the award would be called the Wallace Award.
